Now I still need to work out how to do links and have a side bar thing to have peoples blogs I like to visit.

I used Poppy Seeds,Sunflower Seeds and Tin Foil.

well done on getting the photo uploaded!!
Took me a while to fathom uploading pictures but once you crack it sin't it fun!!!
If you go into your own blog via the public route, instead of via blogger & scroll down you will see the title links click on one of the edit me word listed & it takes you to the blogger page that explains how to later your template. It is far easier than it looks the code is already there you just have to open a second window & open up someones blog you like. Copy & paste their address in the place it shows you & then put their name in the brackets instead of the words edit me.
I printed it out in a wrod doc first so I didn't confuse myself with too many windows open...
Once you get going you will really enjoy yourself....

I remember spending 2 hours trying to upload my first photo. Thank goodness thsoe days are over.
